Did I mention the bird? I may not have mentioned the bird. On Christmas Eve, Nick discovered this in our garage:
This bird apparently flew into our garage, right into a badmitton (bad mitten?) net that was carelessly tossed into a corner. Its precious neck snapped and its once glorious life would soar no more. A mile away, Kelli smiled, though she knew not why. Oh, how she would have rejoiced to learn that an evil bird had died! She hates birds. Maybe it's specifically land-birds, like ducks and such, but I'm sure she didn't shed too many tears over this one. Anyway, that's weird. Not quite as weird as when we found the sparrow stuck to the outside of our apartment building, but still interesting.
I got Nick an appointment with a bone doctor this afternoon. He needs to keep his cast on for another week. Then we'll go back in, get it taken off, and will see if anything else needs done. The doctor didn't think it was anything extremely serious. Well, except for the pain in the ass it will be for everyone (especially Nick) to try to be mobile. Crutches are not easy to use.
I still don't have a video camera. The link I saw at Circuit City's web site has expired, and searches for 'HV20' come up blank. WTF?!? Now the cheapest I can find by any reputable site is around $700. This is going to suck, and I'm going to have to wait until tax time to do anything about it.
I went to the chiropractor this morning. I haven't been able to go regularly for a couple months, and it had been a couple weeks since my last one. Usually, my pain is on my right side, which means they have me turn on my left side and push down on my right. Today, nothing happened when he did that, so I turned over on my right. When he pushed, it sounded like freaking bubble wrap being stepped on. It was the biggest adjustment I've had in a while. I made an "oof!" sound when he did it, but it didn't hurt; it's just a weird-ass feeling. Consequently, my back has been somewhat better today, so that's good.
